About the Procedure
Corneal surgery – and in particular Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) – is among the most technically demanding procedures in modern ophthalmic surgery. The precise preparation and implantation of the ultra-thin Descemet membrane (approx. 10–15 μm) demands the utmost care and tissue-sparing instrumentation.
DMEK RAPID® – The First CE-Certified Preloading System
In close collaboration with Prof. Dr. Peter Szurman (Eye Clinic Sulzbach) and the German Society for Tissue Transplantation (DGFG), Geuder has developed DMEK RAPID®. The DGFG delivers the lamellae under a PEI-approved process as LaMEK preloaded – ready to use directly in the OR.

Instrumentation for Corneal Surgery
DMEK Cartridge by Prof. Szurman
Enables gentle aspiration of the delicate lamella and its implantation into the anterior chamber – without direct manipulation of the endothelium. Incisions of only 2.4 to 2.85 mm support rapid visual recovery.
Corneal Trephines & Punches
NanoEdge single-use trephines and corneal punches enable sharp, defined tissue cuts for graft preparation – with consistently high cut quality by virtue of the single-use design.
Corneal Markers
The Tomark corneal marker and other marking instruments support precise intraoperative orientation and centration.
Viscoelastics & Dyes
Via our subsidiary Fluoron GmbH, high-purity dyes such as Viroron Trypan Blue are available for high-contrast visualisation of the Descemet membrane.
DSAEK & Further Corneal Procedures
Coordinated instrument sets as well as capsulorhexis forceps, scissors and micro-forceps for corneal preparation.
