About the Procedure

Posterior segment surgery encompasses vitreoretinal procedures on the vitreous, retina and macula – from retinal detachment to macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membranes and complex trauma sequelae. Few disciplines in ophthalmic surgery demand more: the most delicate anatomical structures, limited intraoperative visibility and a multitude of coordinated steps require the highest level of precision – and a technique that is reliable at every moment.

Geuder meets this demand with something rare: a complete system from one source. Device platform, endoillumination, laser, single-use material and high-purity tamponades are fully coordinated – developed, manufactured and tested to the same standard.

megaTRON S4 HPS – The Core System for the Posterior Segment

Complex procedures demand a system that maintains overview. The modular megaTRON S4 HPS covers anterior and posterior segment, coordinating vitrectors, endolaser, illumination and infusion in one platform – the technical foundation on which demanding vitreoretinal surgery finds its calm.

  1. 1. Integrated Complete System — Vitrectomy, endolaser, illumination and infusion in one system – coordinated, not just combined.
  2. 2. Precise Fluidics — The hybrid pump combining peristaltic and venturi technology provides every phase of surgery with the fluidics it demands.
  3. 3. Modular Application — One platform for anterior and posterior segment – investment security for every OR.

Our System for the Posterior Segment

  • Vitrectors & Trocar Systems

The UNO Colorline single-use system covers all common access systems from 20G to 27G – including trocar systems, vitrectors, scissors and forceps for a gentle, efficient vitrectomy manoeuvre.

  • Endoillumination

The SOLEA® RGB-LED light source and the xenoTRON® III xenon light source reveal tissue that other light sources conceal – with an integrated Phototox Guard to protect the retina.

  • Endolaser & Laser Probes

The endoTRON 532 endolaser enables intraoperative laser coagulation of retinal tears and proliferative changes – integrated in the megaTRON S4 HPS or as a stand-alone system.

  • Tamponades & Dyes

High-purity silicone oils, PFCL and preloaded gas tamponades from our subsidiary Fluoron – for intraoperative and long-term management of retinal detachments and macular holes.

  • Buckling Surgery

Specialised buckling implants for scleral-supported procedures in retinal detachment surgery – for a precise, tissue-sparing approach.

Frequently Asked Questions about Posterior Segment Surgery with Geuder

What does the Geuder system solution for the posterior segment include?
The portfolio ranges from the megaTRON S4 HPS device platform via endoillumination (SOLEA®, xenoTRON® III) and the endoTRON 532 endolaser to UNO Colorline single-use systems, buckling implants and high-purity tamponades and dyes from Fluoron – a fully coordinated complete system from one source.
Which gauge sizes are supported?
The UNO Colorline single-use system covers all common access sizes from 20G to 27G – including trocar systems, vitrectors, scissors and forceps. The colour coding supports safe procedures within the OR team.
What distinguishes Geuder endoillumination from conventional light sources?
As an RGB-LED light source, SOLEA® deliberately combines red, green and blue components – for tissue differentiation superior to conventional light sources. In addition, the xenoTRON® III with its integrated Phototox Guard protects the sensitive retina even during longer procedures.
Where do the tamponades and dyes come from?
All tamponades and dyes come from our subsidiary Fluoron GmbH – including silicone oils in various viscosities, PFCL and preloaded gas tamponades. High-purity biomaterials, manufactured and tested within the Geuder Group.
