About the Procedure

Pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and related vitreoretinal techniques demand precise interplay between device system, illumination, consumables and specialised micro-instruments – every element must be right for the whole to succeed. Modern 23G to 27G systems enable ever smaller access, shorter operating times and faster patient recovery.

Geuder is one of the few providers who master this interplay completely from one source: from the microsurgical system via endoillumination and single-use systems to the high-purity tamponades of subsidiary Fluoron – developed, manufactured and tested to one standard.

megaTRON S4 HPS – Modular Phaco and Vitrectomy System

The megaTRON S4 HPS forms the centrepiece of the Geuder system offering for anterior and posterior segment. Its hybrid pump system combines the sensitivity of peristalsis with the responsiveness of venturi technology – and achieves, together with the UNO Colorline MACH2 vitrector, cut rates of up to 12,000 cpm in the posterior segment. The result: tissue handling as gentle as the retina deserves.

  1. 1. Hybrid Pump System — Peristaltic and venturi technology in one system – adapted to every phase of the procedure.
  2. 2. Gentle Tissue Handling — With the UNO Colorline MACH2 vitrector, cut rates up to 12,000 cpm – for traction that is barely measurable.
  3. 3. Modular Application — One platform for anterior and posterior segment – investment security for every OR.

Systems & Consumables

  • VIVOS – Phacoemulsification System

The VIVOS complements the Geuder system portfolio as a modern phacoemulsification system – with particular strength in IOP control and high-performance vacuum management.

  • SOLEA® RGB-LED Light Source

The world’s first RGB-LED light source for ophthalmic surgery. Through the targeted combination of red, green and blue components, SOLEA reveals tissue that other light sources conceal – particularly valuable when deciding on ILM peeling.

  • xenoTRON® III Xenon Light Source

80 lumens of light output with an integrated Phototox Guard to protect the sensitive retina from phototoxic damage – for safe working even during longer procedures.

  • UNO Colorline Single-Use System

Covers all common access systems from 20G to 27G – trocar systems, light guides, vitrectomy scissors and forceps, vitrectors and complementary resterilisable accessories.

  • Fluoron – Tamponades & Dyes

Our subsidiary Fluoron GmbH produces ultrapure biomaterials: silicone oils, PFCL, heavy silicone oils and preloaded gas tamponades – including the unique F4H5 wash-out preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions about Vitreoretinal Surgery with Geuder

What does the hybrid pump system of the megaTRON S4 HPS offer?
The hybrid pump system unites peristaltic and venturi technology in one platform. Surgeons select the fluidics to match the respective phase of surgery – from sensitive control to efficient removal.
What cut rates are achievable in the posterior segment?
In combination with the UNO Colorline MACH2 vitrector, the megaTRON S4 HPS achieves cut rates of up to 12,000 cuts per minute – for a particularly low-traction, tissue-sparing vitrectomy manoeuvre.
What is the advantage of the SOLEA® RGB-LED light source?
SOLEA® is the world’s first RGB-LED light source for ophthalmic surgery. By deliberately mixing red, green and blue components, tissue differentiation can be adapted to the respective surgical situation – an advantage particularly when deciding on ILM peeling.
Which tamponades and special solutions does Fluoron offer?
Our subsidiary Fluoron GmbH produces ultrapure biomaterials: silicone oils in various viscosities, PFCL, heavy silicone oils and preloaded gas tamponades – complemented by the unique F4H5 wash-out preparation for the removal of silicone oil residues.
