To reliably meet the high demands of ophthalmologists, PHAKOS manufactures innovative, efficient, and functional accessories for diagnostics and microsurgery. These include vitrectomy, panoramic, gonio, and three-mirror lenses with wide, distortion-free fields of view for detailed examination of the chamber angle, fundus, and periphery. Further vitreoretinal applications are supported by high-quality tonometer heads and cryoprobes.

It is therefore no coincidence that Geuder AG was the choice for distribution in Germany. PHAKOS and Geuder not only share the same understanding of quality, but also the same vision of perfection and patient satisfaction.

Since December 2020, Geuder AG has held the exclusive distribution rights for all PHAKOS products in Germany.

The KryoFast console for cryosurgery was developed specifically for use in ophthalmic surgery. It is ideally suited for cryopexy – the targeted freezing of retinal defects such as retinal tears or holes that can lead to retinal detachment (amotio retinae). KryoFast is used both in the treatment of existing retinal detachments and in retinal tears, provided these are not complicated by advanced proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). In addition, the system is suitable for the prophylactic treatment of lesions associated with an increased risk of retinal detachment.

Thanks to its thoughtful design and user-friendly equipment, KryoFast supports safe and efficient use in everyday surgical practice. The system is based on the Joule-Thomson effect and ensures a constant cryotip temperature of –65 °C – regardless of external conditions. The cold is generated by the expansion of medical N₂O or CO₂ gas at room temperature.
